I felt protected. Magda, las tres mujeres, Fincho, Abuelita y Abuelito, and the five children added to my lovely family environment. The close relationship between the doctors, dentists and Chetica made surgery and recovery so much easier and easy on the nerves. The other patients were very support and caring. How does one go about your stay at Chetica and the life and caring
that goes on there. This first sign that I knew I was in good hands
having come from Virginia alone, was the sign held up at the airport
with my name and welcoming me to Chetica Ranch.
That's Eric, from here it was history, getting my luggage, getting
me to my room and then the invitations to the family. Because that
is exactly what it is, a family with a nurse on board. Ladies to
care for you’re every need from surgery to post op. Eric is very
quiet, unless you ask about the countryside in which he is an
expert. He also can get you a cab with all necessary directions back
to the ranch and tell you how much to pay. If you catch him just
right, he does have a funny bone!!!
Warning, always wear your seat belt, it's the law and Eric's Law!!!
How about being greeted by Ruben and Lorena "the entrepreneur" in
person and having fresh flowers brought to your room. Need a talk?
they are there for you. Honestly the kindest most influential yet
humble people I have ever met. Lorena's chef touch in the kitchen
and remarkable way of organizing the appointments like a radio
dispatch. The girls in the kitchen, always with their figure in a
pot cooking unless you need them for bandage change, help with the
shower, anything you need, they will see to it that your needs are
met. That's Francis, Carla, Maria, all very sweet and motivated,
I'll miss them very much!!
Although is building an elaborated Health Spa with all the world
class touches and selling lots, Chetica Recovery Ranch and it's
integrity surrounding the rain forest and all nature, will remain
intact and improved, but that's another story.
One morning I saw Lorena's Mom, Carmen, sitting outside holding what
appeared to be a small flower as her eyes were fixed on this amazing
flower with shades of purple, I came up to look and she show it was
not the flower alone, she was enjoying but an insect, who's behavior
she was watching. Ahh, the simple pleasures in life!!!!
Now, if that doesn't sum up the grace and natural beauty of being
here, I don't know what does!!
Don't forget Tito ( Lorena's Dad) and our secret hugs and kisses!!

I just had the best-stuffed zucchini (oops) in the world. Last night we had fresh tuna steak! That, at the moment cost $17.50 in Atlanta! The gourmet cooking alone was/is worth so much! To have a fire built in my own little cottage (in the fireplace, of course) every night; to have my meals served so cheerfully in bed; to have been changed and cared for, and driven back and forth to appointments by such an interesting and entertaining man as Eric; to be able to converse with all the other people all bandaged and taped up and to compare wounds; to be in such a beautiful place with the truly artistic surroundings. One suggestion was to stay at the ambassador hotel to recover, because it was only $35.00 a night! What? Are they crazy? The tuna dinner along would cost $35.00 in the US! They don’t even have room service and I would have had to struggle in and out of my liposuction garment alone! Now, this experience alone is making me want to have more plastic surgery. I will be back! I can’t remember everyone’s name, but the kindness and grace I will always remember. Loved the dogs too! I could just go on and on (and, I have) everything about this place and people is grand. You are in the right business. Thanks fro putting up with all my leaking all over and stuffing pads in my garment too. You are all grand!

Lorena and Ruben, this trip was absolutely amazing. I can say that on my trip here and waiting meeting the both of you that I was anxious, but not necessary nervous. All that changed as I was received by Eric and I was welcomed into your home, infact this entire trip felt more like a family outing than a vacation- by this I mean the people (everyone) was like family, from the meals to the post-op help, to the conversation we had over tea. I came to Costa Rica to “get back my pretty” thanks to the wonderful dr. Fournier, that happened. What was totally unexpected was that I would meet such a warm and loving group of giving people.
