Letters from our Guests

January 10 2003

Plastic surgery, particularity in a foreign country, can be a scary prospect, it certainly was for me!

Fortunately, I was led to the perfect combination: The Rosenstock-Lieberman Clinic and CheTica Ranch.

From that first meeting with Costa Rica's ( and Argentina's ) "Ambassador of goodcheer", also known as Ruben, I felt taken care of. Ruben will take you anywhere from Doctor's appointments at all hours, to the Bank, a drugstore, to even hunting for a specific lingerie item for the flight home.

Our lodging was rustic and yet, spacious and comfortable and would prove to be our home - away - from - home, a fire warming in a cool night, the food was wonderful, the care warm and attentive, the hospitality and family atmosphere, the very best, in the latin tradition.

A word of warning though, Lorena's desserts can be deliciously addictive!!! :-) In addition, Lorena, Bertha and Grandma Tita, provided great post-operative care, and even managed to put on my compression garment and binder. No mean feat!!

Lastly, Dr. Rashi and the rest of the staff of the Rosenstock-Lieberman Clinic, re-affirmed my faith that high quality medical care need not to be the domain of the wealthy or a thing of the past. I was treated with superb technical skill, attention to details, promptness, courtesy, compassion, the true heart of Medicine and healing.

And I say this, based on some 25 years in healthcare in the U.S. where I've worked with a variety of professionals in many different settings. In short, I wasn't just a piece of meat or a chunk of money, but someone who was valued and respected and cared for. It really was that good and professional!!

So, if you are considering any type of plastic surgery, you can't go wrong with The Rosenstock-Lieberman Clinic and CheTica Ranch. Much love and many, many thanks to my new friends who I will cherish forever!!

To Ruben, Lorena and Bertha, Thank you so much for the hospitality, the best I've ever experienced and the food!!! Unbelievable!!! The Christmas eve dinner, the best I ever had, the beef stroganoff,, lemon chicken B.B.Q. and world class omelets, you should open a gourmet restaurant. The cottage was great also. I really appreciate you openning up your house to me, I really felt right at home!! Thanks for everything!

Sincerely! Brian H. Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.

The choices of a genuine recovery facilities other than Hospitals and apartment-hotels in the San Jose Area, are few. The only choice of a real recovery facility away from noise and pollution of the City and its environs is CheTica Ranch!

This working ranch recovery facility stands out among the recovery facilities in terms of friendliness, charm, clean air, privacy, outstanding food and most important a fluent English speaking family and staff. The large sprawling ranch covers 80 acres of extremely green lush fields and forest and it's located only 10 miles from San Jose and 22 minutes from the airport.

The Martin family, has been running their post-surgery business for 5 years and know the recovery business very well and they have a good relationship with the Doctors that serve their clients. They are very in tune to the needs and wants of their patients and will not hesitate to take action if there is a medical emergency or even a notion of a perceived emergency and a nurse also lives in the premises.

The ranch limits accommodations to 12 patients at one time which still allows to give good care. Average stay is 8 days, cost is $75.00 per day for all inclusive patient accommodation, 3 excellent and home cooked fresh meals per day and fruits and juices in between. The charm of CheTica Ranch slowly seeps into your soul and psyche while recovering from the trauma of cosmetic surgery. Before you know it, the friendly caring staff and family, the cute family dogs, the magnificent horses, and the quiet and scenic surroundings are a wonderful part of your recovery experience.

Unlike the other smaller and more conventional recovery centers and Hospitals, the large ranch with it's wide open spaces allows for lots of privacy and quiet scenic wanderings for reflection and meditation.. Bring your camera or you will regret it! The usual and expected conveniences are also available at CheTica such as rides from and to the Airport, telephone, large screen TV and Internet.

Dear Lorena, Ruben and Bertha,
Even though your lives are already full, you have taken me in much as one of your family and helped me to feel relaxed and even a little part of things when otherwise could have been a bit of a rough experience. Your generosity is a treasure I shall never forget!

Dear Lorena, Ruben, Fawn and all of the staff, staying at CheTica was truly one of most wonderful travel experiences I have had. The service and care at CheTica rivals any world class 5 star resort, it's more like staying at a "friend's ranch in Costa Rica" and that's what you all have been to our family. I hope that we continue to keep in touch and visit again on "non-surgical" terms!! Costa Rica is an ecological gem and I hope to travel here again, very soon. You all have an open invitation to visit us in South Florida. Take care and God bless! Joshua. West Palm Beach, Florida.

Dear CostaRican family, nothing much to say except: THANK YOU!!!! My time here has been wonderful and very fulfilling. I will never forget all of the talks, laughs, shopping and...oh... the great food!!! Thank you for making this 10 days here by myself, feel like I was with family! See ya next year!!
