How can I really express what you all Lorena, Ruben, Tita (ouch the needle!), Tito Helen, Sharon, everyone have done for us? I read about the services before departure to C.R. I know I’d need some recovery care. But I really did not understand how much the services are needed and how loving they are performed. How all surpass anything that ca is written. Your love and sincere concern as well as your personal details are charming. Thank you for everything! And special thanks and love to Helen, who bathed me, changed my Jackie bandages, and anticipated my every need way before I did. She is special. Jessica echoes our thanks appreciation and love for you all. I cannot image not returning to Costa Rica and to Che Tica some time soon. Love Shelly R.

Ruben and Lorena, most who come to visit your wonderful ranch don’t came to have a fun-filled vacation, rather we come knowing we will get in pain, get cranky and crabby, become demanding and generally be unhappy. All this in a wide range of totally a pain to not o bad. To reply your awesome hospitality, all I can hope is that I was a pain to the menus! Thank you for helping me realizes a transformation. Lorena, Ruben, extended family, and staff. This trip has been even better than my last. Thank you all for taking such good care of my daughter, and me Iris has an experience of a lifetime. She loved the horse back riding and the rainforest. Most of all, she enjoyed playing with little Carolina. We will never forget our wonderful stay here at Che Tica. Thank you for always treating us like family. Both times I have come to Costa Rica, I have changed my physical self, but staying at Che Tica changes my inner self watching your family and being part of it, brings me great love and happiness, that I can take back home with me. Knowing you, your family, and way of live inspires me to be a better, happier, more loving patient person. That is something no surgeon can give me. Thank you again with all of my heart. You are the kindness most genuine people I have ever met. I will be back in few months. You are always in my heart and my prayers. Love Iris. Love Dolores M. thank you for love Iris.

Dear Ruben and Lorena, I am so happy I chose to stay with you for my makeover in Costa Rica. The fresh, cool air was such a welcomed relief after each trip to the city. And the personal attention form the whole extended Che Tica family helped my anxiety and loneliness disappear. You are such a beautiful family both inside and out! The ranch and the cottages exceeded all expectations; the atmosphere is warm, cozy and comfortable. The décor is great and extras – like movies, magazines, coffee pot, and etc. made my stay so enjoyable. Thank you for all the ways you went “above and beyond”… going to the grocery for decaf, soda, burning a special CD for me, lunch and rainforest tour, and especially inviting me to mass! I hope one day to visit again with my family to see the beauty of Costa Rica, and the unique stay at your lovely ranch! Whishing you great success and happiness! Karen

Dear Ruben, Lorena, Lupe and Sharon, Erick, and everyone at the ranch, when I decided to come to Costa Rica, I knew that having surgery and dental work would be a difficult process, but after staying at Che Tica, I can now associate my recovery with warmth and friendships, I really don’t think I could’ve done it alone, no without all of Ruben’s assistance, encouragement, and great sense of life, or without Lorena’s excellent individually, tailored meals, or Sharon’s kindness in helping me learn a little Spanish (while at the some time doing five different task) I hope to return to Costa Rica often and keep in touch. I hope this is not the end of my relationship with Chetica, but the beginning Best Wishes, Dan

You loved me a year ago, when I had my lowing body lift, my breast lift and my arm surgery and this, now a year later, you have loved me and cherished me again and my big Tim. I got my teeth fixed this time, every single one, but I got my heart fixed more than anything else. Others may fix my teeth, my boobs, my butt or my arms, but you real, Lorena and Ruben fix my heart. XXOO Jamie and Tim

Everyone at the ranch, when you look up loving caring and hospitality in the dictionary, there should be a picture of all of you. From the moment I saw the warm welcome Erick gave, I knew I was where I was meant to be. I may no have had the best experience with my surgery but you all bent over backwards to help. Lorena’s cooking is the best. Ruben can light up a room with his smile. Erick will do anything for you and the staff is the hardest working people I have ever see. God bless all of you Sylvia
P.S. if you ever need a friend in Atlanta, please call xxxx I would love to have you to my home.

Ruben and Lorena, I would like to express my appreciation for the hospitality and warmth you two, and indeed, everyone at the ranch, has show me during my stay. Your ability to take everyone, and everything in stride is truly a gift. I was so lucky to find such a caring place for my recuperation, your hard work and sincere concern for the welfare of your guest is a true asset to the hospitality industry of Costa Rica. I wish you, you families, and your devoted, hard working employees many, many years of prosperity. Yours in hearth Karen M.

My dear Ruben and Lorena, my stay at Che Tica has been a delight in every respect! I have thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the ranch, the charm of Taos, the delicious food and the thought fullness of the staff. Most of all, thought, I have been touched by your kindness and genuine concern. I have felt so well cared at Che Tica and I know that it has made a true difference in my healing. I heard wonderful things about you both before I came, and I have now witnessed how your gorgeous outsides are surpassed by your beautiful insides.
God bless you and keep you and your beautiful family in health and happiness. With my affection and gratitude Anne.

I’ve made the transition from guest to friend in 10 short days, I am grateful for your kindness, attentiveness and care during my stay at the ranch. You and the great staff have created the closest thing to home here in Costa Rica. My wife was skeptical about my visit to Costa Rica until she learned of the ranch and the way you treat your guest. You earned her confidence and for that I’ll be forever grateful. We hope to see you in San Francisco. Stan G.

Lorena, Ruben, family and staff, I am at a loss for wordless to express the depth of gratitude. I have for all you have done for me. Basically, you loved and nurtured me back to health certainly you attended to the need of this tired, broken lady. But the magic, the miracle, is what you did t o feed and nurtured my broken heart and spirit, and bring them back to the world of the living. Thank for loving me until I could once again find the ability to love myself. There are pages more I could write here about the miraculous ways God worked through you folks to remind me that here is indeed still love in the world, thank you for allowing him to work through you. Gratefully, Mary W.

Lorena and Ruben for 19 days you’re care for me… cooked, bathed, medicated was there emotionally for me during my recovery. What touched me most is that, I was here in Costa Rica, alone and feeling drained and missing my family… Lorena, thank you for helping me thought and making those hard times easier. Sharon… what can I say, a great person. We couldn’t talk much but understood enough to laugh and even though it hurt to laugh, I welcomed the time if you, I will miss you and remember how you were there for me. ☺ I will be back at Che Tica as soon as I hit lotto to finish up my plastic surg. I will recommend Che Tica in a heartbeat. Thank you all so very much for making my stay in Costa Rica a warm one. God Bless and keep you all well and happy. Much love. Linda M. New York.

To all my chetica friends. I came back to Costa Rica for surgery, not knowing that I was really returning for such a lovely week – it was truly a family vacation, not recuperation! I leave here at Che Tica a little bit of my heart, knowing it is in caring hands. Tye R.

y Che Tica family, I can’t thank you enough for taking care of me, I know this was the place for me when I saw all the monkeys on my bed! You are all so kind and gracious. You put me at ease from the very beginning. Appreciation isn’t a big enough word to cover all that you did for me. I am eternally grateful. Thank you for making this more than a recovery ranch. I truly felt like I was just visiting fabulous friends. May God hold each and every one of you in his hands. Alexis A.

Dear Ruben and Lorena:
I am a member of the Costa Rica plastic surgery board and felt compelled to write. I have not had surgery in CR yet but plan on future visits. Former guests of your facility have been encouraging and supportive and I would not hesitate to stay at Chetica! You both sound like very loving and compassionate people.
Unfortunately, this world is made up of all kinds of people. Don't allow the unsatisfaction of one unhappy couple ruin what you have. You know in your heart that you do all you can to help the guests at Chetica. In fact, often times, others have stated that you all go well above and beyond the call of duty. Continue to hold your heads high with pride. Former and future guests are so fortunate to be able to have such a wonderful place to stay during their recovery.
God Bless!
Ciao and Hugs,
Victoria in Italy :)

I am just back from PS and 1 1/2 week at CheTica! Ruben and Lorena were fabulous! One thing I wanted to let 'newbies' going there is to take warm clothes. There has been nothing but rain for the last week plus and the afternoons and nights get really chilly. I took shorts thinking it would be tropical weather and got really cold. I was staying in Old Tuson and because of its size, it was really hard to heat up.
As far as locking things up? I had my purse in the closet the whole time. I know all the staff and there would not be one person that would touch anything of yours. Everyone there is wonderful, and I would never have thought for a minute that my belongings were not safe. CheTica was truly a fabulous place to recover.
I did take travelers checks and was surprised to find the number of places that would not take them. Not even the airport would take them for departure tax. I was able to cash two at the Bank of Costa Rica, but there again, they did not want to do this. It was funny, they actually had to get permission to cash them from the president of the bank and then they tested them to make sure they were real! When I go back for more surgery, I will pass on the Travelers checks and just take a bit more cash. Just a suggestion.
Sold on PS in Costa Rica! Katherine
