IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS TO CONSIDER BEFORE SURGERY
All patients should have a complete check up, complete blood work (CBC), TP, PTT, and an EKG before their surgical procedures. If you have these tests done prior to your departure, you will not travel in vain, since everything must be in order prior to surgery.
Smoking
If you smoke, the likelihood of wound healing problems and other complications increases. Smoking must be avoided completely for at least two weeks prior to surgery. “Cutting down” is not enough to remove the adverse effects that smoking has on wound healing.
Stop
If you take Vitamin E, Aspirin, discontinue use for at least two weeks before surgery.
